TIL that you only need to know 39 digits of pi to calculate the circumference of a circle as large as the known universe to the precision of 1 hydrogen atom (1 proton).

Does anyone know a good way to solve basic trig equations by hand. I already know my sin pi/6 and all the other easy radian measures. But what if you had 14pi/11? How would you go about solving that by hand?

Pi (3.14....)has an infinite number of digits, but in order to get to 3.15 you would have to reach the end of Pi’s infinite digits at some point.

If Pi is an irrational number without an exact value, wouldn't that make all of its applications inaccurate? Wouldn't that mean that Math is fundamentally flawed ?

The number pi will always be an estimate when not using its symbol. So will e, the square root of 2, and all other irrational numbers.
